ESB Hosting – Don’t go there!
I currently use three providers. I already posted reviews on the first two. Today, I will post a different kind of review. I will warn you, it is not what this service wants to see posted. So, here it is, let me introduce you to the worst service I have ever hosted with in 17 years of being on the internet.
ESB Host

The servers on ESB Host are about the fastest responding servers I have used. The server is located in Oregan and I am in the South-east. You can’t get much farther from me and stay in the continental USA. Last year, the server had lots of outages and downtime. This year he updated his equipment and now has more reliable and faster responding servers than before. They have been very reliable since I started back with him this past July.
When it comes to technical support, however, ESB Host has the worst service response that I have ever encountered in my seventeen plus years of having web hosting! Last year, he was in the process of moving himself or his daughter, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt when I did not get replies from tech support. The bad response was blamed on first one thing and then another the final excuse being the ticket support system which he eventually replaced. I guess I am gullible. I left his service for another while all these problems were going on, but finally, he seemed to have had them cleared up and was using more reliable equipment. I decided to give him a try again. I still have the same old problems with tech support. He just does not answer them. When he does, the answers show that he did not take time to read the problem. It seems to me that for Michael Rogers at ESB Host, 24/7 support means he may, if he feels like it, answer 7 out of 24 support questions asked. If he doesn’t like the question, he definitely will ignore it!
Being on his mailing list so you can keep updated on the server situation, etc. is like being on a spam list where he spends more time promoting his Cobra Scripts. I tried buying some of them, and took him up on his promise to install them for free. Again, no response from tech support and no installation of the scripts. Again, a total waste of money and time.
My advice concerning ESB Host, Cobra Scripts or anything that involves Michael Rogers, is to RUN, not walk, but RUN away from it as fast as you can. Just go the other way! I gave him two chances, actually three, but he blew it all three times. I am through with him.
Even on bad reviews, I will typically include a direct or affiliate link. This site is my first, and probably only exception to that rule.

Michael Rogers is everything the last poster says he is. I wanted a php script from Cobra Scripts, but did not know anything about how to install it. He advised me to pay for a year’s hosting with ESB, and to get a domain name through them, and he would install the script. I did so, and the wrong script was installed, which was no use to me. I told Rogers so, and he replied that he could not configure the script I had bought, so he had installed another. I explained several times in detail why the script he had installed was no use for what I wanted. Clearly, from his one line replies, he had not taken on board what was being explained to him, and then eventually changed his argument to one which was. “I installed the script you wanted”. I again explained that he did not, and I sent him the url to the script I had ordered, and had a receipt for. His response was to close the hosting account with ESB. I now have no hosting company, no website, and he has kept my years hosting fee. A complaint has been made to Paypal about this shyster. I repeat the sentiments of the previous poster. “RUN A MILE FROM THIS COWBOY OUTFIT”
Rogers has now published for sale as a turnkey site, the site I ordered and never received, and further has stolen the domain name which I registered for it. The man is a con artist. As for his 30 day money back guarantee with ESB, forget it. It is worthless and Rogers will keep your money. The sooner he faces litigation the better.

They are good when everything is fine, but the support is horrible. They have had an outage since Friday and still have yet to get the servers back online. The most frustrating thing is they are not providing many updates.
