Profit Funnel Progress
Wow,
It has been a while since I posted here, but I am still getting over 1000 unique visitors per month. Well, I figure some of you might be wondering what has been going on.
In January, I made a conscience decision to, once again, change the direction my focus in Internet marketing. This decision was made against the advice of a very successful marketer who thought I should maximize the momentum I had and see where it leads first. He was very disappointed in me and I may have lost a great ally among a most highly successful Internet marketers.
The reason I shifted gears one last time, was because the autoblogging course I was taking had no real foundation. I was basically building my financial house on the sand. A bit of change in the Internet world such as Google’s Farmer update or Facebook policy, and I might see a reduction of 50-75% or more of my traffic. Needless to say, did not have the sense of security I need to put my all into it.
Autoblogging can, and does, work — IF it is built on a firm foundation. I did not build that foundation, so it was inevitable that I would either back-track and rebuild everything or take a different path.
By February, I had actually gotten to the point in my commitment to walk away from my blogs…all of them including this one. My focus has since been on designing and building a network of mini-sites and a proper sales funnel.
As simple as they are to build, I have always run into technology walls when trying to build a simple sales letter or squeeze page. This year, I decided that whatever it took, I was going to learn how to setup a sales funnel and build squeeze pages and sales copy mini-sites.
I spent all my available time for one week trying to setup one site but never completed it. I then started another site. It took several hours for me to learn each piece of the puzzle, but I finally completed setting up my first mini-site. I did slip a little and shifted focus onto Facebook Pages for a while, but then I realized, I was in the same boat again. The best thing to happen was that while I was side tracked with FB, I acquired a PLR mini-site related to FanPage Creation.
The site was primarily a practice exercise in setting up a mini-site sales page. As such, it generated a total of over $200 over the months of March and April. However, I had not captured the buyers list. Regardless, I consider the site a great success. I finally setup a mini-site and, more importantly, it redirected my focus back on what I had committed to. That was even more important.
With my focus back on setting up a sales funnel and list building, my next project was a PLR list building course. The timing was great. The information was great, but it turned out that the “simple” plan was anything but simple! 20+ hours of video training to teach you how to setup a mini-site in one hour. Hmm…. Try doing that in one day!
I did succeed in setting up the site, but I have had no sales from it. Well, two people did manage to find the download page and steal the product, but I am not going after them. After all, they were smart enough to steal, but they are too stupid and lazy to actually work the system to ever make money. If they do manage to setup a site, they will spend more time worrying over someone else stealing from them they will never be happy. So be it.
After taking the time to layout what I thought was the real “simple” list building funnel, Liz Tomey finally showed up on the radar again and I bought what looked like the sales funnel I just designed! Then, the next purchase I made from her proved to be another list building system that is truly as simple as it can be!
That was about a month ago, give or take a week. I bought lots and lots of her products as well as others related to what I am doing to learn from and to setup to sell and share.
I have been going through each of the courses, and slowly and steadily building the sites for each of the products. While I was setting them up, I was creating and testing a check-list of things I need to do for each one. At one point I scrapped five of the sites and started them over from scratch.
Today, I have a total of 6 squeeze pages and 12 minisites setup. This morning before noon, I setup one squeeze page and two mini-sites.
Bare in mind, that this is still part of my learning period. The sites are up, but not the followup to them. The reason I setup so many sites before taking the next step is to learn the process and to create a usable check-list that I can follow as I set them up.
I learn better by repetition rather than by seeing it and doing it once.
It has been 4 months since I last posted here. And that is about how long I have been working on this.
For most of you reading this, if you were to spend just one hour a day, 4 days a week, you would probably have gone much further in your business.
I started with a fair idea of what I wanted to do, but with no plan. Now I have the plan and I am making great progress.
As I am learning this, I am also creating the outline for a complete strategy that starts with the absolute simplest foundation and then builds on it until it is a full, diversified, automated business system generating steady income.
Well, that is it for today!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I love how much detail you give in your posts Buck. It sounds like you have found your path “up the mountain” and I can’t wait to see how well it does for you. More importantly, you’re an example of working your goal until you’ve made progress.
I’m curious…
You said your mentor encouraged you to stick with the old model. I get that. I’ve heard similar advice. Many times, our decision to move to a different path is just another “shiny object.”
Was there anything in this recent move of yours that let you know this was truly a path worth jumping onto?
