I have been both busy and productive the last two days.  I selected six categories of products to promote, selected and purchased 6 domain names, found one misspelled and bought another, created a master setup template and check list, and I setup 7 websites.

Strangely enough, the majority of the time was picking the product lines and domain names.  Once I selected and purchased the domain names, I started reviewing my master setup check-list.  I haven’t used it in quite a while and I have added some things since then.

It took me four hours to setup the first site, which included double-checking each step in the check list, reworking the setup template so it reduced my work load in setting up the sites.  It automatically lays out three scripts that I have on each site including Power Link Generator and WordPress.  WordPress has 24 plugins including WP Robot, Caffeinated Content, quite a few Internet Marketing related plugins and a couple of security plugins. In addition, I manually configure the security of several folders on my site to discourage script kiddies.

Many of these require manual configuration setting after the install, which is what end up taking most of the time required for setup.  I spent what seems like a lot of time setting up this template and updating my checklist, but it was not in vain.  The first site I set up was actually setup 4 times in the last two days.  I set it up once last night, then three times today.  Once I got the bugs worked out in my setup routine, I started kicking out websites in 20-40 minutes depending on the interruptions I had to deal with.

From here on out, if my work day is fix on setting up websites and I can do so without interruption, I should be able to kick out about 20 new sites in a single day.  That is, of course, only setting them up and configuring the settings.  It does not include populating them with articles, etc. Nonetheless, I feel like I accomplished something today!

I only have a half-day to work tomorrow, but my wife is taking the baby so I can either rest or get some work done.  My goal for tomorrow is to populate one of the sites with articles that it can drip-feed over the next two weeks.

I just did a review of my marker boards and realized that there are a number of tasks on this site being left undone. It all has to do with priority.  I am working towards earning some money this Christmas season.  I have some useful tools to put on here, some free training videos that teach the basics of IM and lots of ideas.

Well, that’s it for tonight.

Good night.
